SWITZERLAND

Watch & Cow

Cultural immersion, off the beaten-track

You may think you know Switzerland, but Watch and Cow is a French-Swiss DMC in Switzerland that likes to do things differently. Think off-the-beaten-path destinations, authentic accommodation, local immersion, and itineraries centred around enticing themes. Yes, Swiss wine is one of them.

We thoroughly recommend working with Watch and Cow for a blend of bucket list hits and secret corners that’ll leave your travellers in awe.

Why Switzerland?

You may think you know Switzerland well, but there’s much of the country that still flies under the radar. We partnered with Watch and Cow Luxury DMC in Switzerland because of their focus on unique experiences and their knowledge of the French-Swiss region, home to some of Switzerland’s lesser-known highlights and one of their areas of expertise.

HERE’S WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM A TRIP TO SWITZERLAND:

Fairytale Scenery - Winter and Summer

Switzerland is known for its Alpine scenery. Verdant forests, glittering lakes, and soaring mountains set the scene for your travels. In winter, skiing and snowboarding are where it’s at. But in summer, you’ll also find adventures galore - find yourself cycling near glacier-capped peaks or paddling along white water rivers. Hiking is the activity du jour. And if you want to take it easy, get a boost on your cycling adventures with e-bikes, which are popular throughout the country. Marvel at mountains like the Eiger, with its chiselled north face, or the towering spire of the Matterhorn.

Exceptional Cuisine & Wines

Food is a big deal in Switzerland and it goes way beyond cheese and chocolate. You’ll find an extensive list of Michelin-starred restaurants, including 24 with 2 Michelin stars to their name, and 3 with 3 stars. 2020 also saw the addition of Green Stars, identifying restaurants with a commitment to sustainability. Slow food and sustainability have been improving across the country and there’s a vast selection of restaurants with a conscience, that work hard to reduce their footprint and support local farmers and produce growers.

When it comes to wine, there are also some local specialities to whet your appetite and Watch and Cow knows all the best local vineyards and wine-makers personally - as well as expert wine guides. Their favourite vineyards can be found in the wine-growing regions just outside of Geneva but they can design wine tours across many areas of Switzerland.

Culture, Architecture, Art

For a relatively small country, Switzerland packs a punch. Its cities and towns have a cosmopolitan feel, from the high-end bars and boutiques of Zurich to the creative energy of Basel. Avant-garde galleries have sprung up in many of the main cities and there are architectural delights from Geneva to Lausanne. Come with an open mind or a niche interest, and you’ll be sure to find what you’re looking for in Switzerland. And Watch and Cow can certainly take care of the finer details.

Soft Adventure to Adrenaline Challenges

Watch and Cow can build into your itineraries any number of soft adventure activities such as rides on cable cars, walking across immense high altitude footbridges, paragliding, winter ski-ing and summer glacier skiing, (E) biking, Curling and of course hiking! They can also arrange mountaineering trips for your more adventurous clients looking for a challenge!

Why Watch & Cow?

They have former guides as trip-planners

Watch and Cow luxury DMC for Switzerland is operated by Emilie, who fell in love with Switzerland on her travels from France over 15 years ago. She spent years guiding guests personally through Switzerland and has a few tricks up her sleeve when it comes to trip planning. With a love of history, art, culture, and landscapes, what Emilie doesn’t know about Switzerland probably isn’t worth knowing. You can expect hands-on support with itinerary planning and ideas that are tailored to your guests’ every desire.

Insider industry knowledge - they get it

What we love about Watch and Cow is that it’s partnered with an established outbound travel agency, so they understand how tour operators and agencies work. They get the processes, the travel styles and they understand the business from your perspective. Service is on point and your guests are in equally good hands.

Innovative itineraries and products

Watch and Cow luxury DMC for Switzerland specialises in thematic itineraries that are centred around a specific area of interest. You’ll find other exciting trips - specialist itinerary themes include panoramic mountain trains, watch factories, family holidays, wine tours, architecture and Alpine air cruises. You can even include a photographer on your trip to capture it all.

Local immersion is something that comes as standard, and your guests will have plenty of opportunities to interact with and give back to local communities. Enjoy cookery classes, vineyard visits, cheese making, chocolate making, paper cutting and even yodelling.
