We announce two new additions to The Retreat Collection by Travel Kinship, our curated portfolio of beautiful nature-led stays where space, stillness and restoration come as standard.

A Collection built to keep growing
When we launched The Retreat Collection, the idea was simple: we wanted to seek out and share the most special of stays - the lodges, villas, eco-retreats and luxury camps where the senses are quietened, bustle is traded for birdsong and schedules give way to the time to truly recalibrate.

The Retreat Collection was always designed to evolve; but slowly, carefully and only when somewhere genuinely earns its place.
Today, we're delighted to introduce two retreats that do exactly that.
One sits above a crescent of sand on one of Indonesia's least-developed islands; the other perches in the high Andes, on the historic route to Machu Picchu - and both share the qualities that define the Collection: breathtaking settings, conscious operations and the kind of wellbeing that comes from spending time somewhere really rather extraordinary.
Ngalung Kalla: Barefoot Luxury on the edge of Sumba
Far from Bali's crowds, on the southwest coast of the island of Sumba, Ngalung Kalla is the kind of place that calms and recalibrates its guests almost without them noticing.
Set across 250 hectares of oceanfront and forest, this family-run eco-retreat has been designed in genuine harmony with its spectacular surroundings, its six beautifully constructed, open-air bamboo bungalows (all inspired by traditional Sumbanese architecture) are each ocean-facing and entirely private, with outdoor showers, solar lighting and uninterrupted views over the spectacular coastline.
Balancing raw nature and thoughtful luxury, days here follow the island's soft rhythm.
Mornings might begin with yoga or a dawn surf; afternoons drift between the spa, the hiking trails and the retreat's 400-metre crescent of protected beach, reached through a lush little valley below the restaurant.
And the centrepiece is unforgettable - a 24-metre, solar-powered infinity pool, reached via a 60-metre cable bridge suspended high above the forest canopy. Time your swim for sunset and you might never want to leave.
Meals are enjoyed together at a long mahogany table under the stars (with private dining options also available) - fresh, mostly vegetarian cooking built around seafood from the surrounding waters and produce grown in the retreat's own extensive gardens.

Peru EcoCamp - Sleeping well on the road to Machu Picchu
The route between Cusco and Machu Picchu holds some of the most extraordinary landscapes in the Americas, all glacial lakes, 6,000-metre peaks, cloud forest and the silent drama of condors riding the thermals.
But one thing it’s rarely offered is genuine comfort along the way - until now.
Here to change all that is Peru EcoCamp, the first sustainable luxury Andean glamping experience of its kind.
With five camps sited along the celebrated Salkantay route, their geodesic domes deliver the kind of warmth and care that transforms a trek into a journey: king-size beds, private bathrooms with hydromassage showers, wood-burning stoves and hot water bottles tucked beneath the sheets each night.
Meals are another highlight; think three-course dinners prepared by camp chefs using ingredients from the EcoCamps' own organic gardens; Peruvian-inspired dishes paired with local wines and beers and served in cosy dining domes as the temperatures drop outside.
There's real depth to the story here too. Founder Raul Montes was born in Cusco and raised around his grandfather's hacienda - the historic starting point for early expeditions to Mount Salkantay - before training as an internationally certified mountain guide.
His company now leads the way in responsible Andean travel, paying fair wages, investing in local communities and keeping group sizes deliberately small.
